Butterfly Hollow Bed and Breakfast retreat is located at the end of the road in its own secluded 85 acre valley with the Cumberland Mountains foothills wrapped all around. The B&B is only fifty minutes from Nashville but within ten minutes to the quaint towns of Carthage and Gordonsville, where several cafe's and restaurants, antique shops, beautiful rivers, lakes, and state parks quietly await.
The Country Drive to Butterfly Hollow is part of the adventure. Even though we are only ten minutes off the interstate, you'll feel something evolve inside you as the roads change to one lane and the hillsides become adorned with farm life.
Once you turn on to our private drive, you'll feel the lush hillside around you slowly engulf your senses and by the time you reach our gate there will be a new calm and slowness in your breath. Inhale the sweet country air and exhale all your worries as you wind your way into the hollow.

The 1899 restored farmhouse invites guests, with its covered wrap around porch, rocking chairs and hammocks, to relax, renew and listen to the sounds of nature. As you walk inside the poplar siding and log farmhouse you might feel the essence of a mountain lodge with the vaulted wood ceiling, large cedar posts, and exposed balcony. The many natural colors of the Poplar plank walls, the field stone fireplace, wide plank oak floors and old barnwood cabinets add a warmth and comfort to the bed and breakfast that make it so easy to spend cool evenings or rainy afternoons snuggled on the leather couch reading or just watching the fire glow.
There are two private and cozy Guest Rooms in the bed and breakfast. Both rooms are up the aged oak staircase, and are separated by a loft that looks down into the living area and fireplace. Each bedroom has a private bath, ceiling fans and large windows to enjoy the views. The small quaintness of Butterfly Hollow allows your hosts to share the experience and provide a level of personal touches that make each guest feel welcome, comfortable and truly at home.

The best way to soak in the solitude of the hollow is to take a slow walk through the gardens and flowers. There are walking trails that will take you through towering hardwood forests, and on top of the ridges and hills where you can watch the hawks dance within magnificent views of Cumberland Mountain foothills.

"I found your website totally by accident, but when I saw it I knew it was the perfect place for our 2nd anniversary. We very much enjoyed the lovely country side, the peaceful and tranquil nights sitting on the porch and meeting you. Thank you for your hospitality and making our first encounter with a small family B&B so enjoyable."
